Eligible patients
- patients between 21 and 55 years of age who are not eligible for laser vision correction
- this procedure is applied in cases of high myopia and hyperopia
- visual acuity not lower than 0.5
- patients dissatisfied with their vision through glasses or contact lenses
- patients in good health condition
The patient eligibility test determines whether it is possible to perform the procedure on the patient, as well as the expected effect and risk level. The test takes approximately 2 hours, during which, the pupils are dilated which will cause temporary deterioration of vision acuity. The week prior to the scheduled eligibility test, we advise patients that they must not wear soft contact lenses.
Disqualifying Conditions
- cataract, glaucoma
- cornea or retina degeneration
- diabetes
- active inflammatory eye diseases
- autoimmunological diseases
- cardiac pacemaker implant
- pregnancy or breast-feeding
- neoplastic diseases
On the procedure day
- bring your valid laboratory tests findings: morphology, bleeding and clotting time, electrolytes, general urine analysis, EKG (if the patient’s condition so requires)
- GP’s certificate of no contraindications against procedures under topical anaesthesia
- bring your jaundice vaccination certificate, if any
- wear comfortable clothing
- it is advised to be accompanied by another person as you will not be able to drive immediately after the procedure
- thoroughly remove all make-up
- expected stay and procedure time: approx. 3 hours
